DETT 611 Library and Intellectual Property in Distance Education

I had never thought much about copyright before this course, so it was an eye-opener for me to discuss who owns courses that professors create to teach at their universities. I also got educated about librarians’ roles in encouraging grade school teachers to follow copyright laws, which can be confusing. Creative Commons Licensing is the most powerful idea that I ever heard of in copyright and open education, and I am now an outspoken advocate for it. This course truly increased my research skills to another level. I also refined my skills in expressing ideas, as I had my questions and alternative ideas about the concepts in this course.

This first project was recorded on VoiceThread after the paper was written.
